Goodreads is a great web tool when it comes to track your bookish life. I have been using it for about 5 years now and I still hang out there sometimes but mostly use to track all the books I have read/reading/TBR, etc. Over the past few years, I am managing to complete my Goodreads reading challenge and since then this post has become a tradition to be published on this book blog.
What I like about this challenge is the simplicity and the freedom it provides a reader to go on without hassling much on restricted number of books or genres. Quite a few readers don’t mind completing instructed challenges but some of the readers enjoy the freedom along with accomplishing their reading goals. I am later one. Last year I tried Pop Sugar and other instructed challenges where they give 20-30 tasks to read a book from particular author, or of a specific genre etc, but I could not compete with it. The time, energy and also the mood of a reader are precious.
This year is now at close and there have been over 3 million participants in the yearly Goodreads Challenge. At the time of writing this post, over 43 million books have been read and marked as read on Goodreads. I did manage to contribute to the it.
How is your challenge going on? Did you took part in any other interesting reading challenges this year? Tell me all about it in the comment section below or write a post like this one and send me the link.

Congrats! I finished mine as well!
Congrats to you as well 🙂
Completed mine too! Congrats!
Congrats to you as well 🙂
263?! Wowers! I like the simplicity of the Goodreads challenge too and enjoy it when I don’t pressure myself to read more books than I can. I passed my goal of 40 books.
I can say I had time for this year. I did not pressurise myself like the last year to complete the challenge. I won’t be competing a high number next 🙂
Congratulations for completing your challenge 🙂
31/25 myself this year. And yeah, it’s great tool, especially due to the way how Kindle marks books as reading and finished.
Congrats Tomas! 🙂
I have 5 more books to read to complete my challenge of 300 books. I am a fan of Goodreads, I used it to see if I have read a book or not. I do a review on each book I read since 2013. I signed up for some challenges shortly after I found Goodreads. I never had the time to put my books on the challenge. So this year I won’t sign up for any other challenges, although I probably could finish them.
Good luck. 5 books could be done before 31st. 🙂
Thanks!
Congrats on completing your goal.
Thanks!
Impressive effort – Well Done. I have participated in the Australian Author Challenge over the past two years in an endeavour to boost my knowledge of local authors. It is only 12 books a year which is no pressure and leaves plenty of scope for other reading.
Good for you. 🙂 Thanks!
Congratulations on this: and am I seeing this correctly? You have read 263 books this year? That really is amazing 😀😀
Yea, I had a lot of time for myself this year to read. 🙂
I’ve completed my goal, but the year isn’t over until midnight on the 31st! I’ve got a few more to go 😁📚📖 Happy Holidays and all the best in 2018 🎆🎉
Congrats to you too. Yeah, 31st midnight is still a few more days away, hopefully I’ll be able to read one or two more.
Well done! I’m over my goal as well, pledging 90 and have finished 98. Will probably hit 100. I participate in a Goodreads Group called CanadianContent who support Canadian writers. We’ve had a year long Bingo challenge which I’ve completed and a summer long challenge to read across Canada (books set in or authors born in each of the provinces and territories). Found some real gems that way.
Congrats to you too for completing the challenge. That’s great to hear the challenges sometimes bring some of the best books we read 🙂
Congratulations! 263 books is awesome!
Congrats
Thanks!
Welcome
Congrats! I had a challenge of 100, but I ended up reading 173 so far, so I am aiming for 200 next year.
That’s amazing! Good luck with 200+ reads next year 🙂
Thank you!
You’re welcome 🙂
