SET IN DARKNESS: A BOOK REVIEW

SET IN DARKNESS: A BOOK REVIEW

SET IN DARKNESS by IAN RANKIN When did I first hear about Ian Rankin. Never, it was just a recommendation by the shopkeeper to whom I usually go for my book-shopping. Maybe he was just trying to earn a little extra for he had only one copy, but I am thankful to him. I still thank him today for making me read well written crime fiction books. Yes, Mr.Rankin know what to write and how, I have read almost half of his John Rebus’ series in past one year and half, and he never gets carried away, never off the mark, the plot would always be good, his protagonist, John Rebus, always satisfying the reader and that’s what makes you a good […]

F IN EXAMS: A REVIEW FOR THE EXAMS

F IN EXAMS: A REVIEW FOR THE EXAMS

Posted December 14, 2012 by @amanhimself in Fiction, Reviews / 0 Comments

F IN EXAMS by Richard Benson     Richard has done a hilarious job by illustrating this book. We all have faced it. THE EXAMS! The big  day for some, the doomsday for others. And we all have got grades varying from A to F though I  believe there would be less A’s and more F’s (atleast it’s there in my case). This book is highly recommended for teenagers of age group 14-17, though I read it yesterday at the   age of twenty but then I believe there is no age to read and write. If you are above the age limit I  recommended, then it will remind the days of your “exam-hood”! The book is a short collection including very real […]

Veronika Decides to Die: A Review for the MADNESS

Posted July 5, 2012 by @amanhimself in Books, Fiction, Reviews / 0 Comments

Veronika Decides to Die Author: Paulo Coelho “If one day I could get out of here, I would allow myself to be crazy. Everyone is indeed crazy, but the craziest are the ones who don’t know they’re crazy; they just keep repeating what others tell them to.” The fundamental question that the author puts forth on is what madness actually is. We all seem to have ideas on what madness is, but Coelho’s book provides an answer which we all know but have a kind of fear or hesitation to implement it. But yes, what is madness? Creating our own world and choosing to live in it, without concern about other things that do not matter. That what madness is. […]

Posted June 25, 2012 by @amanhimself in MyWorks, Uncategorized / 0 Comments

GLORY AND LOVELINESS To Someone on their birthday… I am going to post here a poem I wrote few months back. It was written for the occasion but never fulfilled what it was determined to do. I hope you’ll enjoy it. In the land far away, On an island, I sat by With a bottle of ale, And the fair memories of the day before. Sun was bright, In the land of past, Where glory and loveliness, Were like true friends. Sun is gloomy, On the island of present, Where glory and loveliness, Have passed away, Into the east where sun might still be smiling But not here, not now. There were nymphs, And being young, being gay, Roses and […]
