Ever wondered How Google Works? No? I am not talking about the search engine but the company itself which is altogether a different world. Eric Schmidt and Jonathan Rosenberg are offering some insight on working of one of the most common brand/product used by ‘us’ for almost everything to get of the internet. Google, helps every child, man, gramps, to satisfy their curiosity by not only providing the search engine but various products. It’s been more than a decade Google is out there, and affecting and effecting our lives and from a business enthusiast and not from a tech enthusiast point of view, it is seems an essential read.

Eric Schmidt does not fail to explain the unique philosophy that has helped Google to be the successful enterprise that it has become. Both authors tries to give ideas on what other businesses can do to emulate the success of Google. The authors then explain how the confluence of three seismic changes – the internet, mobile, and cloud computing – has shifted the balance of power from companies to consumers. The companies that will thrive in this ever-changing landscape will be the ones that create superior products and attract a new breed of multifaceted employees whom the authors dub ‘smart creatives’, those individuals who are incredible employees and can advance an organization forward if you give them the latitude. The book give much emphasis on the idea that the speed of your product development cycle is the most important aspect of your business particularly in this ‘internet age’.

Moreover, the book is all about Eric’s and Jonathan’s philosophy of their management culture which of course includes the companies internal philosophies rather than answering some questions that a tech enthusiast would generally be interested in hearing from ‘the ones’ themselves.
